Gail Bullock/Odom: Miss Georgia 1973
Miss West Georgia College
Ballet to Theme from "Summer of '42"
Gail used her Miss Georgia scholarship to complete her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina. With her year of Miss Georgia service and experience she also began her broadcasting career. In a few short years she was Owner & President of her own Advertising and Consulting firm. For nearly 40 years she has worked primarily in television broadcasting and has appeared in hundreds of TV commercials. Trained extensively in dance with emphasis in ballet, she won many awards and competitions including double preliminaries at Miss Georgia 1973.
As a member of numerous civic and professional organizations, Gail was named an “Outstanding Young Woman of America” in 1995. She continues to be active in the Miss America Organization as a judge and emcee for more than 40 Miss America State pageants. She was on the state panel that selected Cheryl Prewitt, Miss America 1980, as well as the state panel who chose Miss America 2004, Ericka Dunlap. For several years Gail was on the National Committee hosting the former Miss Americas during pageant week in Atlantic City.
Her daughters and granddaughter share most of her free time and they enjoy anything outdoors. Living in Coastal Georgia and Historic Savannah is like a permanent vacation!
