Dr. Emily Foster Howell was born and raised in Cornelia, GA. In May 2000, she graduated from UGA with business degree in Management Information Systems. She took a one year break from dental school at the Medical College of Georgia from 2001 to 2002 after winning the title of Miss Georgia and used over $25,000 in Miss America scholarship dollars to complete dental school and orthodontic residency. Dr. Howell opened her own solo practice, Howell Orthodontics, in Jefferson, Georgia just over six years ago. She was named by Jackson County Chamber of Commerce as “Business Woman of the Year” in 2011. Her practice, Howell Orthodontics, was just named as part of the 2014 “Bulldog Top 100” fastest growing businesses in the US owned by a UGA graduate. She loves being involved in the community and gives back by awarding one deserving underprivileged middle school student every year with completely free orthodontic treatment and has given her patients over $25,000.00 back for their hours of volunteer work in the Jackson County community. Dr. Howell and her husband Jon Howell have been married for almost ten years and have one 2-year old daughter, Georgie. The Howells are expecting their second daughter, Lucy, in July of this year.
